Summary Description: The Software Engineer will be responsible for delivering major components related to a new storage virtualization project. This project is an excellent opportunity which is rich in innovation and high in visibility within the organization. The job entails potentially 2 areas of ownership. The primary role entails significant amounts of design, coding/debugging and testing of a very complex subsystem which is tightly integrated with our massively parallel database file system and storage subsystems. The secondary role is as a senior Linux internals expert with influence in resolving complex Linux problems and identifying any enhancements to current set of diagnostic tools.

Key Areas of Responsibility: " Contribute in all aspects of the project including architecture/design, code/debug and test of major features of the project. Activities will include but not be limited to: o Developing, evaluating, selecting and documenting optimal architecture that meets customer requirements o Designing software components and linkages and document the design in specifications o Constructing software per requirements and design while maintaining adherence to source/build control procedures o Diagnose and solve complex software/platform problems o Providing estimates, goals, standards, constraints and dependencies as input to the SOW and the software development plan o Following defined engineering procedures for developing and releasing features o Developing functional specifications to meet system architecture and requirements o Documenting program code according to local specifications o Tracking and controlling defect and customization changes o Providing input and technical content to support user, and system documentation o Supporting the development team and other stakeholders by providing on-going communications Basic Qualifications: " BSEE, BSCS, BSCE or BSEECS, Masters or PhD in related engineering area " 5-10+ years experience working within engineering / development role " Extremely knowledgeable and experienced with C and C++ programming languages " Extremely knowledgeable and experienced with Linux driver/kernel level development " Experience with successfully working in a small high powered development team environment.
